Dear New SJB Prayer Chain Member,

Thank you for offering to give of your time and heart to pray for the intentions of our parish and school families and their loved ones.  Fr. Pollard encourages us to heed St. Louis de Montfort's instruction to offer up our prayers always along with all the intentions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother, so that no need will go without prayer and no prayer will go without Mary's perfecting touch. By helping us pray with and for each other, the Prayer Chain also helps us grow in faith, hope and charity.

The SJB Prayer Chain Coordinator will send prayer requests to your email address as they are received and include a prayer for each. You are welcome to use the included prayer or pray as your heart directs at a time of your choosing.

If you have a prayer request for someone, please obtain any necessary permission before submitting their name.  Sometimes Father Pollard would like our parish as a whole to pray further, especially for parishioners, and so an individual may be added to the parish bulletin or Prayers of the Faithful. You are welcome to ask to not have the individual passed forward if they should not be listed in the bulletin or Prayers of the Faithful at Mass.  We encourage you to forward a copy of the Prayer Request that is sent along the SJB Prayer Chain to the person for whom you asked us to pray so they will know what was included and how we are praying for them.  At times an individual needs to remain anonymous and, in that case, please let us know and we will pray in general for them as a relative or friend of a Prayer Chain Member.

For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven,
it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy.
